Chris Lord’s Blues Express

Chrislordbw

A powerful and raunchy Rhythm & Blues 5 piece, Chris Lord & her Blues Express produce classic Blues, R&B and Blues Rock with exuberance and joy.

The band is driven by the superb voice of Chris Lord, supported by a heady mixture of tenor saxophone and guitar, all built upon a first class rhythm section. Together the band merges to weave a magical spell wherever they perform.

Influences range from early artists like Bessie Smith and Big Mama Thornton, to the golden years represented by the three Kings, all the way to more modern exponents of the art like Etta James and Beth Hart; but don’t expect the same old covers – The Express take pains to dig out some rare gems of lesser known tracks which always keep the night interesting.

Maxwell, Masters & Moore

Chilled children of the Chilterns
Stuart ‘Son’ Maxwell – vocals/harmonica
Bob Moore – guitar
Eddie Masters – double bass
Bob Moore and Stuart Son Maxwell front the blues-rock band Storm Warning. Eddie Masters is the go-to man for rock and blues bass. Between rocking blues sessions and gigs, they take time out to explore the quieter side of blues, jazz, folk and all kinds of other styles in between. Alongside some select originals, expect to hear songs from Skip James, Bill Withers, Bessie Smith, The Doobie Brothers, Sonny Boy Williamson, The Grateful Dead and many other classic and obscure sources. With no drummer, the mood is soulful, understated and relaxed, though there are plenty of swinging grooves to keep your feet tapping.
